About the Journal
MISSION
Impacto Científico is a biannual scientific publication that publishes peer-reviewed articles in the fields of economics and social sciences, humanities, education, and engineering. It is affiliated with the LUZ-COL Center and sponsored by the Graduate and Research Program. Its fundamental objective is to offer options for the publication of peer-reviewed articles to all professors at the COL Center and other national and international universities, on topics covered in its programs, as a means of disseminating scientific and technical knowledge in order to promote high-quality, efficient, and relevant research.
VISION
Impact Científico will be conducted as a journal of academic excellence that promotes research activities at LUZ-COL, ensuring the production of knowledge in all areas of this Center and other universities, promoting training, continuous updating, and the development of researchers.
OBJECTIVES OF THE JOURNAL
GENERAL
The peer-reviewed journal Impacto Científico aims to offer publication and dissemination options for scientific research in the form of peer-reviewed articles to all professors at the COL Center, as well as professors and researchers from other institutions whose work fits within the profile, philosophy, policies, and editorial standards of the journal. in the areas of knowledge covered by the Center's programs, as a means of disseminating scientific and technical knowledge in order to promote high-quality, efficient, and relevant research.
SPECIFIC
Establish a structure within the Center's organizational chart to handle publications.
Encourage the generation, transmission, and application of innovative, up-to-date scientific, technological, and humanistic knowledge.
Produce publications on a biannual basis.
Promote the convergence of programs, considering the functions of integration, interdisciplinarity, and dynamism in teaching, research, and outreach at the University of Zulia's Centers.
Encourage the participation of teachers and students in research activities.
Propose solutions to issues at the national, regional, and municipal levels that respond to problems of interest to the university and the community in general.
OPEN ACCESS POLICY
This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps to promote a greater global exchange of knowledge.
REVIEW PROCESS
At Impacto Científico, we are committed to ensuring the highest quality in the publication of scientific articles. To this end, we employ a rigorous peer review process, carried out by experts in the subject area of each manuscript.
This process is carried out as follows:
Peer review: Each manuscript is evaluated by two external experts from our institution, who have extensive experience and recognition in the field of study addressed. The reviewers issue a critical and constructive evaluation, considering aspects such as originality, methodology, relevance, results, and clarity of communication.
Third reviewer in case of discrepancy: In the event that the evaluations of the first two reviewers present significant discrepancies, a third expert reviewer is appointed to resolve the situation.
Total anonymity: Both the identity of the authors and that of the reviewers is kept strictly anonymous throughout the evaluation process. This guarantees impartiality and objectivity in the reviews.
Likewise, at Impacto Científico we guarantee efficiency and transparency in the evaluation of manuscripts, committing ourselves to communicate the final decision to the authors within a maximum of fifteen days after receipt of the manuscript.
Similarly, we maintain fluid communication with authors, informing them of the status of the review process and providing feedback when necessary.
At Impacto Científico, external reviewers are carefully selected, ensuring that they have the necessary experience and knowledge to evaluate each manuscript rigorously and critically, guaranteeing honesty, rigor, confidentiality, and impartiality throughout the peer review process.
As for the responsibility of the authors, they must guarantee the originality of their manuscripts and verify the absence of plagiarism through specialized tools.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes set forth herein and will not be provided to third parties or used for other purposes.
CONTENT POLICY
ARTICLE PROCESSING COSTS
The Venezuelan Peer-Reviewed Journal of the East Coast of Lake Impacto Científico does NOT CHARGE ANY COSTS for the evaluation, publication, processing, and submission of articles.
UNIFORM RESOURCE IDENTIFIERS
Following the recommendations issued by some indexes, Impacto Científico has included DOI and ORCID in its latest issues as persistent digital identifiers for the standardization and normalization of authorship.
DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICIES
At Impacto Científico, we seek to guarantee the permanence of the content published in the different volumes and issues by storing it on servers external to the institution: respective backup copies and constant monitoring of the technological environment to prevent possible cyberattacks.
Similarly, since 2022, Impacto Científico has been depositing its volumes and issues in Zenodo, a multidisciplinary repository that safeguards all types of materials produced by research projects and academic activities. This repository is used as a platform to support preservation, under standards of open access to information and knowledge.
Each author is solely responsible for any anomalies in the texts, sources, or images used in the manuscript.
