Challenges in the construction of a State of Law in Venezuela. The Statute of the Democratic Transition
Abstract
The current political crisis of the National Executive Power in Venezuela is analyzed, through an historical reconstruction of the political events that have precipitated a transition. The terminal crisis of the so-called XXI Century Socialism is evident, manifested in an authoritarian regime that usurps the National Executive Power, while dissident democratic forces coexist, with international recognition, for the reestablishment of democratic order in Venezuela, represented in the Interim Government and in the National Assembly. The presidential crisis is studied in the light of constitutional axiology and finally the Transition Statute is analyzed, pending its implementation.
