The psychological rehabilitation of vulnerable groups in Ukraine facing various social problems
Abstract
Psychological rehabilitation, by focusing on people suffering from structural vulnerability, involves more than basic clinical interventions. It is an experience that involves a process of support in which empathy and contextual assessment play important roles in improving the objective and subjective conditions that determine, for better or worse, the lives of communities. In this sense, the objective was to analyze the perspectives and approaches to psychological rehabilitation aimed at vulnerable groups in Ukraine, considering the social, political, and cultural challenges that exacerbate their vulnerability. To achieve this purpose, a methodology combining critical hermeneutics with participant observation was used. The conclusions state that the knowledge gained in this research goes beyond what happened in Ukraine and, if necessary, can be used in situations of conflict, migration, exclusion, or natural disasters. The Ukrainian experience shows that it is not enough to apply universal formulas; it is necessary to develop interventions based on recognition, listening, and creativity, combining global and local knowledge to find more humane, profound, and transformative responses to crises.
