Turismo en Magdalena, Colombia: Impacto en la pobreza y estrategias de desarrollo
Abstract
Este estudio analiza el papel del turismo en la reducción de la pobreza en el departamento del Magdalena, Colombia, desde un enfoque teórico multidimensional que integra factores socioeconómicos y contextuales. La metodología combina una revisión sistemática de artículos indexados en Scopus, un análisis bibliométrico de tendencias y el estudio del departamento del Magdalena como ejemplo representativo. Los resultados muestran un aumento sostenido de publicaciones sobre turismo y reducción de la pobreza, con un repunte a partir de 2017 y un pico en 2022. China, lidera la producción científica, seguida de Sudáfrica y otros países en desarrollo. El análisis de co-ocurrencias identifica tres ejes centrales: Reducción de la pobreza, desarrollo del turismo y desarrollo sostenible, asociados a modalidades como turismo rural, comunitario y ecoturismo. En el Magdalena-Colombia, el turismo contribuye de manera importante al valor agregado y al empleo regional, pero enfrenta carencias en infraestructura, servicios básicos, promoción y equidad en la distribución de beneficios. Se concluye que el turismo presenta desafíos estructurales, pero ofrece oportunidades significativas para la reducción de la pobreza si se fortalece la participación comunitaria, la formación de capacidades y la implementación de políticas inclusivas.
